In light of recent news about the closure of Guidepost Montessori locations in the United States by Higher Ground Education, Cosmic Education Group wishes to reassure the public that Guidepost Montessori schools in Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Indonesia are unaffected by these developments.
Guidepost locations in these regions are owned and operated by Cosmic Education Group, a completely separate entity from Higher Ground Education, with independent ownership. Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Hong Kong, Cosmic Education Group licenses the Guidepost Montessori brand for exclusive use in Asia and is otherwise not affiliated with Higher Ground Education.
Additionally, Cosmic Education Group operates the Nest Preschool network in Singapore and the internationally-accredited The Avenues Institute Montessori teacher education program. Cosmic Education Group remains committed to providing high-quality Montessori education and supporting its families and staff. The group appreciates the continued trust and support from the community.
We announced the opening of its first destination school, Guidepost Montessori AYANA Bali. This strategic move marks Cosmic Education Group's expansion into the Southeast Asian market as part of its mission to provide a high-quality Montessori education experience to families around the region.
Nestled in the breathtaking surroundings of the 5-star AYANA Estate in Bali, Guidepost Montessori AYANA Bali combines the renowned Montessori philosophy with the natural beauty and cultural richness of the island. Inspired by a traditional Balinese family compound, learning spaces in the campus are housed in individual structures within a perimeter wall. The traditional Balinese family compound is carefully oriented between the sacred mountains of Bali and the beautiful ocean that surrounds the island, resulting in a harmonious integration with the cosmic order. The distinct structures are arranged around a central courtyard to foster a sense of community and connection to the natural environment. By drawing on this rich cultural heritage, Guidepost Montessori AYANA Bali creates an immersive, holistic learning experience that is grounded in the local context.
At the heart of the Guidepost Montessori AYANA Bali experience is the long-term academic program for children aged 3 to 6 years. Called Children’s House, this carefully prepared, child-sized classroom allows children to direct their own learning, building confidence and social skills while maximizing their capability to learn and love learning. Children's House includes five different classroom areas, each with enticing and sequenced materials that children are introduced to over a three-year period, tailored to their individual developmental timelines. Key program highlights include:
• Building independence through practical life activities
• Developing the scientific mind through sensorial materials
• Individualized guidance with writing and reading
• Concrete materials for lifelong retention of math concepts
• Understanding the world through exposure and experimentation
This comprehensive curriculum covers language, mathematics, practical life, sensorial development, and work habits & interpersonal skills, providing a well-rounded educational experience for young learners. Guidepost’s approach to dual-language learning means that children can always access the whole curriculum in both English and Mandarin, and every classroom has a full-time English teacher and full-time Mandarin teacher.
The essence of a destination school is its integration with its surroundings, creating a unique experience for children connected to its locale. In the Guidepost program in Bali, children are immersed in the natural beauty and cultural richness of their surroundings. At AYANA Bali, the Guidepost Montessori experience offers a lifestyle-integrated approach to early childhood education, seamlessly blending academics with the wonders of this luxury destination.
Designed to ignite a love for nature and a deep connection to the captivating spirit of Bali, Guidepost Montessori AYANA Bali offers Adventure Camps with 2-day and 4-day options year-round, where children aged 3 to 6 embark on a journey of exploration around the sprawling AYANA Estate including visits to the AYANA Farm, Kubu Beach and SAKA Museum. For families visiting Bali in the summer months of July and August, the Bali Adventure camp encourages children to delve into Bali's vibrant ecosystem, from investigating marine life to exploring local agriculture with weekly themes and hands-on creative projects. The program also integrates parents, with a session at the end of each 4-day program for children and their parents to experience together, facilitating connection within and between families. Families staying at AYANA can also take advantage of exclusive accommodation and resort offers to enhance the vacation experience.
"We are excited to welcome families from around the world to our unique destination school in Bali," said Steve Xu, CEO and founder of Cosmic Education Group. "Guidepost Montessori AYANA Bali provides an experiential educational journey that empowers children to flourish, while creating lasting memories and meaningful connections with the vibrant culture and stunning natural landscapes of Bali."
